Client:

UK quoted conglomerate with sales in the region of UKP
5Bn and operations located in all the major industrialized countries
around the world including UK and Europe, North and South America, Middle
and Far East as well as Africa and Australasia.

Business Objective:
|
Enable faster objective business decision making by the
board as well as other levels of company management. Final operating and
consolidated reports to be available 10 working days after month end.
Additional weekly reporting to be available on 3rd working day of each
week.

Project
Description:
|
Development and deployment of a common financial
reporting system for all operating subsidiary companies utilising commonly
available IT components. Plus development and implementation of a
centralised multi-currency consolidation and reporting system for all
groups/divisions of the company.

Metrics:
|
Two phase project. 1st phase - 6months, UKP 1M, 20 IT
personnel. 2nd Phase 6 months, UKP 350K, limited IT personnel but
extensive end-user involvement. The reporting system covered in excess of
350 companies.
|
Results:
|
Both phases completed on time and within budget.
Resultant system delivered in excess of expectations both in terms of it's
functional coverage as well as the responsiveness.
